Peter looked down at him for a long moment. “You’re a good man, Rich.” He touched Richard’s face, hand sliding to the back of his head as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to Richie’s lips. Unlike the quick playful peck earlier, this one was more emotionally charged.

The first kiss that Peter had planted on his lips had been a light press and probably out of drunkenness, and he returned it for the hell of it, somewhat intoxicated himself. But now when Pete kissed him this time there was intent behind it, and Richard smiled into the kiss and returned it enthusiastically, the hand on his best friend’s arm moving to his shoulder. Huh, he hadn’t ever considered it, but he couldn’t seem to get it out of his head now. Granted, even though they were both under the influence of alcohol, Richard couldn’t bring himself to think about the consequences now.
