J’son eyed him hard before sighing and shrugging. “Perhaps. Very well, enough about that. I sincerely hope you are not dragging my son into more danger at least? He has enough trouble on his trail to have his… partner add to it. Seeing one memorial erected for him once is enough for my lifetime.” He shook his head. “Sometimes I wonder where did he get this penchant for finding trouble wherever it crops up. Certainly not from his mother or me… Though he certainly inherited her spitfire attitude.”
He could tell he was under scrutiny at his words and inwardly sighed in relief at the change of topic. Of course, he thought that too soon. “Your — your son?!” He spluttered out. Oh, he was so going to kill Peter. Was that why he didn’t want to come back here? Well, at least it all made sense as to why the King had been grilling him about his non-existent romantic relationship with Peter. “Forgive me your Majesty.” He apologised as he righted himself.
“I’m not, sir, and I’ve been trying my best to keep him out of it. And we both feel the same way, once is definitely enough.” While he might not have any romantic attachments to J'son’s son as his father had so suggested, Richard certainly didn’t want Peter to die again.
