When he had heard that one of Peter’s friends had seemingly returned from the dead, J’son’s first reaction was annoyance. Another factor to have Peter be even more reckless and disobedient. Though when he heard that the friend was actually the Nova that Peter had supposedly died with he became much more curious. He had visited his son’s memorial while he was ‘dead’ and had noted their shared space. He’d made some discreet inquiries and the reports he’d gotten… Well. It would explain why his son wasn’t settling down with a girl.
The first chance he’d gotten he sent a message to the Nova requesting his presence. Now that he was here in front of J’son he didn’t wait to get straight to the point. “What exactly is the nature of your relationship to Peter?”
“Wha — What?” If the king’s first words surprised Richard, the next question just left him dumbfounded. “Peter? You mean Peter Quill?” Wait, how did J'son know — Blue Blazes, Peter was probably a member of the royal court. He was going to have a few words about this to Peter when they met again. “We’re… we’re best friends and partners… Your Grace.” He’d answered both truthfully and awkwardly.
