“Well, I’ve been out of the city for a while. It’s great to see the buildings and the skyline.” Richard hadn’t expected such outspokenness from a stranger, and well he could agree with the sentiment though, what with the whole Civil War issue. “I didn’t know you felt so strongly against the government. But then again, I’ll have to agree. Look at us both, you don’t think they’ll label and arrest us for conspiracy against the government do you?”
“I doubt they’ll arrest me. SHIELD can’t stand to lose their one successful experiment.” Rebecca spoke nonchalantly but the moment it registered what had slid out, both eyes widened and gazed up at Richard. “I-I mean…I…” She was now stuttering over her words in an attempt to take back what had just been said. At least now there were no more secrets.
“Wait what? You’re a SHIELD experiment? They’re still experimenting on people? Or was this a while ago?” Righteous anger coursed through Richard’s veins, overpowering the shock he had felt at the mere mention of SHIELD. She was just a teenager. Blue Blazes, how could they do this to her?
