“Okay cool, I know you can probably hold your own, but it’ll be faster if we work together, erm… Spider-Girl?” Richard guessed her superhero name from her costume, and hoped he wasn’t too far off. In any case, he’d mentally asked Worldmind for assistance on the matter, and got back information on the sentient liquid monster that seemed to be about to enter the sewer systems.
She blinked awkwardly. This guy, was he a hero too? He looked the part. After a couple of moments of holding her own, she dropped her hands to her knees and took in a few short breaths. She’d been chasing this thing all night, hell, she may have not been the only one. Probably where this guy came from.
“Okay, okay…”
Her nature was competitive, but she was hardly stubborn enough to turn down help when it was offered. Lifting her eyes, she took in another short breath; holding it and held her hand out. “Spider-Girl is…Right. And are you uh… Captain Kirk?”
He laughed, not unkindly. It was a refreshing change and not unwelcome. Richard wouldn’t call himself Captain Kirk, that was more suited to Peter, but he had to give the girl some credit, he did lead an army and a corps. “Nova will do, miss.”
Richard slowed down and touched the ground, before turning to the man hole that the liquid monster had escaped through and then back to Spider-Girl. A plan had already formed in his mind, “I’m guessing you shoot webs too right? I’ve got a plan, you’ll web a trap for him down there, and seal the exit. I’ll head forward and block his escape route, he’ll have no choice but to retreat straight back into your trap. Sound good?”
